Susan Campbell was born in Australia and moved to Auckland in 1989, where she obtained a Masters Degree in Art History
Her use of materials is deliberate; she uses silver and copper metal in her jewellery for its close relationship to the land. The magical journey of processes and forms between rocks in the earth and a piece of silver jewellery is a source of wonder for Susan.
Susan’s use of wire is also connected to country. The transformation of a simple length of wire into something of beauty is her way of honouring the nurturing and generosity of the landscapes of North West Australia and the Hokianga, and her engagement with them.
