An Industrial Design degree was Sarah Backler’s introduction to a world of technology, machines and mass production. Through exploration and experimentation, Sarah discovered a unique process infusing traditional slip-casting methods with digital technology.
Sarah works in a garden shed in Tauranga, New Zealand, where she creates ceramics which combine the crispness of a ruled line with the softness of a hand drawn circle. Each form reflects its creation, a product of machine and hand, precision and personality.
Sarah believes in making every day beautiful. Life deserves to be savoured and enjoyed. What we surround ourselves with adds to the experience.
