Rebecca Fargher works in silver, crafting beautiful and detailed figurative wearable objects. Her interest is in referencing materials which tell stories and in working with textures and patterns. Many of the pieces are inspired by nature, the beautiful gardens and bush around her home in Pinehaven, stylised forms, simple or complex clusters of blooms and foliage.
Nostalgic works feature children’s games and material history; playful and whimsical pieces reflecting simple things treasured for their memories and movements. These works are often lockets with other narratives enclosed or concealed.
Fargher is interested in nature and the man-made environment – in objects decorated with natural patterns, and plants and animals in the built environment.
