marion courtille

Forgetting that leather is leather, Marion Courtille translates traditional methods of woodworking to leather. These objects are turned, carved, laminated and joined like wood to create tactile and innovative forms.

Guided by her trust in her material, there is a certain organic quality in Courtille’s creative approach. She says that her inspirations aren’t really “precise”; instead being formed by the sensation she feels when, for example, she admires a masterpiece.
