If you find yourself at Laura Pearce’s Bluff Hill cottage, you need to tread carefully for there are often vases or bowls not long off her wheel, drying on the balcony. Laura has always been drawn to ceramics, and the alchemy of working with clay to produce different forms. “It’s an intuitive process, and technical, requiring conceptualising of the object you want to create,” she says.
Her work features abstract illustrations, based on feelings and life. Laura’s pieces often engender happiness in people – a process that she enjoys watching. “I relish the process of crafting a piece, and I think my happiness is reflected within it.”
