david murray

Currently a full-time glass artist, David Murray came to the medium from a background in slip-cast ceramics. He studied at the School of Art, Otago Polytechnic, in the late 1980’s and has recently attended workshops by many New Zealand and international glass artists.

Murray’s work is highly sought after for both exhibition and collection and is held in public collections internationally. The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa purchased work by Murray for the National Collection, and his work is represented in many of New Zealand’s international embassies.

Murray achieved a high level of technical skill and critical acclaim after only a few years of working as a full-time glass artist
