Clarence was born in Waipawa in 1965. He is of Ngati Porou and Te Ai Tanga a Mahaki descent. He moved around New Zealand with his family living in Wairoa, Wellington and Greymouth. He now lives in Petone, with his family.
Since the late 1990’s Clarence has been experimenting and studying aspects of the arts. This includes; cast glass, bronze and screen printing. He currently creates oil paintings, sculptures and pounamu carvings. His formal education is well complimented by his self-taught skills. He is a full time artist working from his studio in Petone.
Clarence presently sells his work in galleries across New Zealand.
