Ana Couper

Ana Couper has been fascinated with ceramics for over 30 years. As a child she worked in her grandmother’s second hand shop which led to the love of pottery and the ceramic form. Her early influences included Crown Lynn, Temuka pottery, Christine Harris, and Tony Sly. Ana began making pottery in 1999.

After completing an MA at Otago University, Ana started studying under Ross Baker (Crown Lynn engineer) in Katikati in 2014 and then joined the Bethlehem Pottery Society and became a full time studio potter in 2015. This led to ANA COUPER CERAMICS expanding into shops, markets and galleries.

All ceramics are made personally by Ana by hand on a traditional wheel.
